Hi-Lite Real ‘Moral Victories’ Album Review| Album Reviews| @hilitelife @kennyfresh1025 @trackstarz

Moral victories are hardly ever celebrated. To the average person, they may look like losses. Even the definition of moral victory indicates a loss physically, but morally it’s a win because beliefs and morals were defended. Hi-Lite Real recently dropped his project ‘Moral Victories’ and really encourages the listener to have victory in their spiritual lives.

Real wastes absolutely no time getting into the heart of the project, as the title track “Moral Victory” is the first track on the project. I love the production, the keys and the build up of the beat. It really lets you know you are in for something special. “When you lose, you still win cuz you dig from within.” Real really hits home that winning from the inside is way more important than looking like you are winning from the outside.

The next track “Number One Contender” is a good song that reminds you to fight through life’s issues. It starts out with horns and it sounds like it could be the soundtrack to a training montage. Track number 3, “Summer Nights” is probably one of my favorite songs on the project. The song starts off with what sounds like a sample of an 80s/90s song; the drums hit hard and the beat sounds oh so smooth. The song sounds like an old relationship was ended and one of the dope lines that stuck out to me was “Make a long summer short, you can call it summary.” A wonderful song thanking those who are no longer in your life. The next couple of songs starting with”Maze” tells the listener that life is a maze but if we listen to God, He’ll guide us. “Bet You Won’t” dares the listener they won’t give their lives to God. Real uses some reverse psychology on this song and the beat gets you charged up. Real takes us to the West Coast with the Bay sound of “Wrong Turn,” a song encouraging us to go from making the wrong turn to turning to God.

Heading in to the final songs on the EP, we find Hi-Lite Real sing rapping on “Everything” and it sounds good on this airy beat as he sings “I got everything I ever wanted.” Being satisfied in what the Lord has given you, brings a certain feeling of peace and Hi-Lite Real hits that on the head with this song. The next to last song, Real welcomes us to his “Jungle” where he spits on the jungle that is his life. From staying focused on his prey, to navigating life, Real snaps on this track. Mr. Real ends this EP with the song “Rich,” where he spits on how he has everything he needs, because he is rich in the Spirit and He has Jesus. This is the ultimate “moral victory” because many of the things the Lord promises us are intangible and are spiritual, but to the rest of the world, we look like we’re losing.

Hi-Lite Real does an excellent job of taking the concept of a moral victory and fleshing it out through multiple facets of life. From finances, to relationships, to internal victory, Hi-Lite Real speaks on how you can have the victory even when it looks like you’ve lost. The victory is in Christ alone and Real delivers this message in a fun, high energy, melodic, yet turnt way. If you haven’t done so already, you need to do yourself a favor and cop that Hi-Lite Real, ‘Moral Victories‘.
