Don’t Wait, Live Out Your Calling Now | Business With Bordeaux Blog | @jasonbordeaux1 @trackstarz

I believe that everyone here on earth has a calling of some sort. I also believe that some people find it early in life while others spend their whole life searching for it. This week I would like to address those of you who know what you are called to do. I specifically want to address those who are waiting for the perfect opportunity to live out their calling.

For me personally, I knew I was called to lead in some way as well as provide creative ideas for people. Since I also thought of leadership meaning running a business or starting a business, I assumed I had to start something as soon as possible to live out my calling as a leader. Along with this thought, I also imagined that I would lead a marketing team because I also have creative ideas on how to market products and services for companies. For so many years I was looking for the perfect job to open up to start living out this calling on my life. It wasn’t until about a year and a half ago that I was looking at my life and calling the wrong way. I discussed with my wife that I wanted to start a business. She told me that there was no such thing as me starting a business because it would require the whole family for it to work. She told me to find a business/company that already exist and try to work with them. This wasn’t in my plans so I ignored it for awhile until an opportunity opened up. I have shared my story of joining the Trackstarz team a couple of times so I won’t share that again right now. This is open up my eyes though.

I realized that I don’t have to start something from scratch to lead or be creative. As a part of the Trackstarz team, I am free to share and even try to implement many of the ideas that I come up with. If they are too far off, someone will let me know and discuss it with me. (It is great being a part of an honest team) I have plenty of opportunities to bring creative and different ideas to the team and am happy to improve anything that I can. I now understand that I don’t have to be in %100 in charge to fulfill my purpose. I also came to the realization that being a leader starts in my home before anywhere else. I am always trying to improve in this area and Jesus knows I’m not perfect at it. I am reminded in 1 Timothy 3:4 where Paul is talking about the requirements for being a leader in the Church. He says, “He must manage his own family well, having children who respect and obey him.” I like to apply these requirements to business leaders as well. I have to learn to lead those who I love dearly before I can ever lead others. This has been one of my biggest lessons as a father and future business owner.

I share this to prove a point. You don’t have to wait to live out your calling from God. Practice those gifts and abilities in every situation you are in. A calling is not just a career or big goal. It is something that you can fulfill in any area of your life. You may not be able to live the calling in a certain way right now, but you can practice in small ways that can make a difference right where you are. Don’t wait to live out your calling. Do it today.
