““Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”

When Jesus entered the temple courts, he began to drive out those who were selling. “It is written,” he said to them, “ ‘My house will be a house of prayer’; but you have made it ‘a den of robbers.’ ””
‭‭Luke‬ ‭19:38, 45-46‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We just celebrated Palm Sunday! It’s the beginning of Holy Week. The time we begin to celebrate Jesus sacrificing Himself for the sins of the whole world. Normally we would be in church getting our palms and singing, “Hosanna! Blessed be the rock, blessed be the rock of our salvation.”

COVID-19 has us isolated and socially distant, but we can still shout HOSANNA to the King of kings and Lord of lords. Palm Sunday is when Jesus took His triumphant entry into the city. That wasn’t his final destination. He was ultimately headed to the cross to suffer. On the way He was cleaning house to prepare for us – The Church.

After taking this ride through the city what follows is the infamous flipping of the tables by Jesus in the temple. I think this shows the differing variables of how our lives can be as Christians. Sometimes we do the work and it calls for us not to be so aggressive. Other times we have to run people out of the place so God’s will can be done. As we do this we are on our way to making a big sacrifice for the sake of others to be able to experience Christ on a deeper level.

There was a song that said, “If you’re scared then go to church.” I like Bizzle’s reply, “Like we’re just over here sitting scared in the church.” The call of God is not a call to be weak, soft or scared. Living for Jesus is God putting in you the strength of the Incredible Hulk to face your enemies of satan and sin. So….HULK SMASH!!

We have the victory in Jesus in life and death. He has empowered us to do the work to win souls, to build the kingdom of God and destroy the works of the devil. We’re sweeping through the city in victory bringing hope. We’re not weak or soft. We’re saved, redeemed, delivered and made free by the blood of the Lamb. We represent!

That leads us to our Throwback Theology Song of the Week. This song comes from Cash Hollistah. The featured song is from his 2012 single, “Not Soft” and features T-Haddy. Tune into Trackstarz to hear DJ Jeremaya spin this for the Throwback Theology Song of the Day. Until next time…

Peace blessings,
