Theory Hazit | I Just Wanna Go Home TBT Review | @th3oryhazit @chicangeorge @trackstarz

For thanksgiving, I was thinking really hard on what song or video I wanted to review. I basically asked myself, “What CHH song was I most thankful for as I was coming up learning about Christ?Theory Hazit’sI just wanna go home” video automatically came to mind. There are so many things that I love from this song/video.

The first thing you hear is the Love UnlimitedAre you sure?” sample done to perfection and we see Theory hazit (in animated form) getting ready to tell us his life story. We have heard several artists give their testimony stories, but Theory’s is so compelling accompanied by a great visual done by Yusef Quotah. I love how the cartoon creates a lighter tone of such a dark story. The pacing is on point as frame for frame captures the verses and hook perfectly. We can see the anger in Theory’s mother’s eyes,  theory’s fear in jail and pain he feels throughout the video.  The inmates are hilarious singing the hook, but it also shows how they want to leave their own prisons as well. The best part is when Theory finds his way home to God and his family and color is now added into his life.

Overall, this is always going to go down as one of my all time favorite (Top 2) songs and videos of CHH history. The reason why it was so easy for me to pick this song to be the Throwback Theology track for Thanksgiving, is because it embodies thanksgiving. When we look at all the things that Theory went through ( from rejecting God, doing drugs, getting arrested, losing his family, etc), he truly embodies the reason to be thankful of a loving and merciful God. This is a timeless lesson that keeps giving to those that watch and listen to it. Thanks Theory Hazit for what you have given us with this song and Happy Thanksgiving to all you out there. Spread The Soup!
