3 Things I Learned About Law And Order From Donald Trump| @chicangeorge @trackstarz

Monday night was a night many wouldn’t forget. It was a night that we saw two rival teams battling each other to enhance their record and prove to their fans that they were going to bring home the title. One team was trying to prove that they could “rise up” to the challenge while the other team was trying to prove that they were a part of the “saints.” For some reading this, they would be thinking I was referring to the Atlanta Falcons versus the New Orleans Saints. I’m actually referring to the presidential debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

I’d like to focus on the question and response of race relations/crimes that were presented to the candidates and Donald’s answer. Donald replied by saying that “we have to bring back law and order.” Many people were confused whether he was speaking about laws that were in place resembling “Jim Crow” laws and “stop and frisk” or if he was referring to the actual T.V. show. As a believer, I began to really think about the state of “law and order” or the “word of God” within our society and where we stand. It doesn’t look good. So, I wanted to bring you 3 reasons why the L.A.W. is great to bring order back to the state we are in.

  1. LoveMatthew 24:12 says  “Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold.” I believe we can all see that people of all races, class and gender are becoming more cold as the days come. Our hearts have the winter season within them all year-long. Only by the word of God/law and order can we receive “tongues of fire” that can melt the coldest of hearts.
  2. Above It AllDeuteronomy 28:1 says “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth.” When we fully apply all the laws of God, we can be elevated above all of the noise around the world. This can give us peace.
  3. “We” can be unifiedActs 5:29 says “But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.” By following the word of God, we can find unity. We all miss out by listening to many different men (and women) and get separated within the body of Christ.

This article goes beyond who we vote for or who is in our White House. Where there is no order, there is chaos. I Chican Challenge you to figure out if are you apart of the change or chaos? This serves as a Mirror Moment for all those that read this to ask “Am I following the law and order of God in my life?” When we as a body do this, we can truly start seeing a change and God can truly get the glory.
