Watch Your Expectations |Bordeaux’s Business Blog| (@trackstarz @jasonbordeaux1)

One of the biggest issues with doing business with other Christian companies is the assumption that they will do favors or act any differently from any other business. Many may disagree, but just because you are a “Christian” business does not entitle you to anything. As a “ministry” that may be different, but in the category of business, it is a mistake. You should not ever expect anyone to treat you different because you are a Christian. Many times people assume that Christian companies should give free services or product. You are not asking just the owner to make a sacrifice, but also their families. You are asking them to take away from their kids and spouse to help you out. That isn’t a fair thing to do.

Christian businesses need to profit just as much as the next company, because most of the time they are giving to other needs that you may not know about. They may also not be doing as great as you think either. We are usually unaware of the financial status of a business or the things they are helping out with behind the scenes. You may be asking just enough to break them. Instead find a way where you can be an asset to them and a way you may be able to go beyond to help them out. When you do someone always sees and the same may be returned to you ten fold.
